The dangers inherent within our industry demand that the highest standards of training are applied. We are totally committed to ensuring our teams have the required skills both for overall safety and to ensure the efficient completion of their workloads.
Adhering to the Working at Height Regulations Act 2005, Greig Avinou ensure that all employees who manage, plan, supervise or undertake work at height are highly experienced and qualified. Our window cleaners are IOSH Working Safely qualified. Our managers are trained to IOSH Managing Safely standards as a minimum, and also have qualifications from IPAF, PASMA and Rescue Planning. A minimum of two managers at any one time are also trained to NEBOSH standards.
Assessing possible risk is paramount. Therefore all managers and supervisors are trained and qualified to Risk Assess. All window cleaning staff have their own individual training matrix (which is managed centrally). They attend regular courses and monthly toolbox talks that ensure a full understanding of relevant issues when working at height, height safety and general health and safety.
Window cleaning has become increasingly complex in recent years, partly due to important improvements in regulations, the availability of more advanced equipment and the adoption of specialist techniques, including abseiling, power access and water-fed poles. As such, our training is delivered in part from an in-house resource, but also utilising specialist expertise from supplier partners.
Cleaning the windows of tall buildings is potentially very dangerous. Health and Safety practices are, therefore, critical to our business. We are proud of our Health and Safety policies, training programme and impeccable record.
Our managers conduct regular safety audits to check that every operative complies with our working practices, Health and Safety policies and quality standards.
